The Civil Engineering Department is one of the essential and important departments in all engineering faculties worldwide, as it plays a crucial role in the development and transformation of any society, whether in a cultural, social, or scientific context. Since the institute's establishment, the department has succeeded in providing engineering expertise in all branches of civil engineering, including structural engineering, road engineering, soil engineering, water resources engineering, surveying engineering, construction materials engineering, environmental and sanitary engineering, and project management.

The institute awards a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering through an academic program designed according to the latest curricula in civil engineering.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my best wishes to the students of the department and the institute for success and encourage them to continue their scientific research, innovation, and creativity in order to serve our communities and achieve a bright future. I extend my heartfelt wishes for success to everyone and prosperity for our beloved country.

  Mission

To prepare exceptional engineering professionals capable of meeting the local and regional market demands in the field of civil engineering. The department aims to keep pace with technological and research advancements while actively contributing to sustainable development, all while adhering to professional ethics.

  Objectives

1. Graduates who possess the essential skills and knowledge to address contemporary challenges and fields in civil engineering.

2. To prepare graduates capable of applying modern methods in planning, design, implementation, management, and construction across various civil engineering projects.

3. To equip graduates with sufficient communication skills to ensure collaboration and teamwork in interdisciplinary projects.

4. To develop graduates who are committed to lifelong learning and acquiring the skills necessary for professional development, creative thinking, and work planning based on community values and professional ethics.

5. To cultivate graduates who can enhance logical and creative thinking, acquire the necessary skills, and perform engineering analysis to identify problems, model solutions, and analyze factors and forces affecting design methods.

6. To train graduates to provide technical consultations to solve issues faced by various engineering sectors while preserving and protecting the environment, contributing to sustainable development.

7. To ensure graduates can keep up with developments in civil engineering by periodically reevaluating curricula and offered programs.

8. To encourage graduates to build strong relationships with local and regional companies and international institutions to enhance and support educational activities within the department.

Civil engineering is the broadest and oldest of the engineering disciplines, encompassing various technical fields such as structural engineering and public works engineering. Civil engineers are responsible for planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining the natural and built environment, which includes buildings, roads, bridges, airports, railways, ports, water distribution networks, wastewater collection systems, waste disposal facilities, tunnels, offshore structures, dams, and other infrastructure projects. As civil engineers enhance their skills, they can advance into engineering management, overseeing the complete execution of projects.

Our curriculum ensures comprehensive coverage of mathematics, basic sciences, general education, communication skills development, engineering fundamentals, core and advanced civil engineering courses, and design experience. Additional opportunities for professional development include training, field visits, presentations, and participation in research projects and competitions.

The expertise of our faculty members spans across various fields of civil engineering, including structures, transportation, geotechnics and materials, water resources, environmental engineering, and construction management. Additionally, faculty members actively engage in research, academic activities, professional services, and community involvement.

We take pride in our students, faculty, teaching assistants, and supporting staff in civil engineering department. Our department is equipped with advanced computing facilities and various well-equipped laboratories for both teaching and research. We are proud to offer state-of-the-art civil engineering facilities, including the library and other learning support services.

In accordance with the specific criteria for civil engineering programs, our program ensures that students, parents, employers, and the community we serve can have confidence that it meets the quality standards necessary to prepare graduates for entry into the local and regional job markets.
