A number of students from the Giza Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology participated in the Local Climate Change Youth Conference (LCOY Egypt 2025), organized by the Mediterranean Youth Foundation for Development (MYF) after its official accreditation by YOUNGO, the youth arm of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The conference was held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Nile University.
The participation of the Institute's students came within the framework of the administration's keenness to encourage students to engage in national and international events that enhance their awareness of environmental and climate issues and give them the opportunity to be part of global efforts to address the challenges of climate change.
This year's conference was distinguished by its slogan, “This Time It's Different – The Green Transition: Knowledge, Innovation, and Impact,” and featured various activities, including workshops and panel discussions on adapting to the effects of climate change and the role of youth in shaping sustainable environmental policies.
The participation of Giza Institute students confirms their active role in sustainable development issues and reinforces the Institute's vision of supporting students and giving them the opportunity to be part of shaping the future.
